Antonio Zanussi founded the Zanussi Company in Pordenone in Italy in 1916. It started as a small business and then grew into a large industrial concern that produced a wide range of household appliances. In 1950, it was one of the most renowned producers in Italy. The company continued to expand in the 1960s through the purchase of the Becchi, Castor, Zoppas and Triplex brands, as well as the creation of a research and design center. The brand was sold to Electrolux in 1984.
